POSITION DESCRIPTION
TITLE: Seasonal Dock Attendant
REPORTS TO: Director, Marina and Recreational Boating
- Function: Responsible for the safe mooring of vessels, general operation of the docks, assisting boaters, and maintaining a clean environment throughout the marina, parking lot and harbor. Primary areas of responsibility are maintenance, safety, customer service, cleaning, facility support and opening and closing duties.
- Specific Duties:
- Maintain facility grounds and buildings including marina slips, docks, restrooms, parking lot and park area
- Provide marina customers with dockside assistance
- Provide highest level of customer service
- Monitor and operate VHF radio for vessel needs
- Conduct pump-out operations from marina facility
- Report discrepancies, problems, recommendations and needed maintenance to Director, Marina and Recreational Boating
- Build a strong rapport with marina patrons
- Report security issues to proper authority
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays
- Assist with office support as needed including answering phones, scheduling transient boater reservations and processing payments
- Supplement NBPA staff for NBPA and Harbor events
- Must wear uniforms as provided
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Skills & Knowledge:
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Boating knowledge and or experience
- Ability to operate a VHF radio
- Basic operation of office machines
- Basic mechanical ability
- Ability to work constructively and positively with fellow employees
- Ability to multi task
- Ability to work independently and proactively on daily, recurring tasks
- Display acceptable attendance and punctuality
